please get your goop off my Birchbox

I should start by saying I love Birchbox - it accommodates my frugality and laziness. I simply do not want to put the time and money into testing the hot new cream, gloss or polish. Birchbox sends me a nicely curated selection of items - many of which I actually end up buying in full size.

So when I was given the choice to have a regular October box or a box full of item hand picked by goop (I <3 Gwyneth Paltrow) I obviously jumped at the chance.... big mistake.

The samples were teeny, so small I couldn't even tell if I liked the product. Thankfully (not really) I had already received a larger sample of the face cream in a previous box. And the Luna bar? Really? I didn't think I needed Gwynie to recommend an energy bar that I could pick up at the grocery store for $2. My Birchbox + goop box contained the following:

Maybe my expectations were too high, but I think I will be opting out of any future "special" boxes. Did anyone choose the regular October box? Was it everything you dreamed of and then some?
